Initial Setup and Installation

To bring the Griptape Knowledge Base Slackbot (@Griptape) into your team's Slack workspace and start leveraging its capabilities, follow these detailed steps.

๐Ÿ’ก Remember, you need to be a workspace administrator to install Slack apps.

Navigate to the Installation Page: Begin by visiting https://cloud.griptape.ai/slack/install, or by clicking the button bellow. This link directs you to the @Griptape installation page.

Choose Your Workspace: On the installation page, select the Slack workspace where you wish to install @Griptape. Ensure that you're logged into the correct Slack account that has administrative privileges for the workspace you're choosing.

Accept Permissions: The installation process will prompt you to review and accept the permissions required by @Griptape to function within your Slack workspace. These permissions typically include access to read and write messages in channels where it is invited, among others necessary for its operation.

Installation Confirmation: After accepting the permissions, @Griptape will be installed in your selected workspace. You will receive a confirmation message in Slack, indicating that @Griptape is ready to assist your team.

The Default Knowledge Base

Immediately upon installation, the @Griptape is ready to demonstrate its functionality using a default Knowledge Base. This Knowledge Base contains examples of how various companies may organize their data. It's a great way to explore Griptape's capabilities and experiment before creating your own Knowledge Base.
